Woman found beaten in Detroit field dies
Detroit police said a woman died Tuesday night after being found beaten in a field on the city's east side.
The woman was found at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in a field near Cooley High School, on Fenkell and Lauder Street.
Police said the woman, determined to be about 30 to 35 years old, had been beaten and was covered in blood. She was nude.
The victim was unable to speak when police found her. She was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries before police were able to obtain identifying information.
Police said the assailant or assailants were unknown.
